Have Your Say: Government Consultation on Police Force Mergers

The Government is consulting on proposals to merge police forces across England and Wales, and this is your chance to make your voice heard.

Whether you support the proposals or have concerns, the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) wants to hear your views. All responses will be shared with the Government to inform their review.

Why Is This Happening?

The Government is reviewing the structure of policing in England and Wales, with proposals that could see a number of regional forces merged into larger organisations. The outcome of this review could affect how policing is delivered in West Mercia and the wider region, including in our own community.

How to Get Involved

Residents are encouraged to share their views on the proposals. The consultation is open to everyone, whether you support the idea of merging forces or would prefer policing to remain as it is.

The West Mercia PCC will collate responses and submit them directly to the Government as part of the official review process.

Consultation Closing Date

The consultation closes on Monday 15 June 2026. Please make sure you have your say before that date.
