Warm Homes Local Grant: Energy Efficiency Upgrades for Residents
Rous Lench residents in the Wychavon District may qualify for free home energy efficiency improvements through the Warm Homes Local Grant (WH:LG) scheme, run by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Act on Energy and local districts including Wychavon.
The grant helps low-income households make homes warmer, cut energy bills, and reduce carbon emissions with fully funded upgrades like insulation, efficient heating systems (e.g., air source heat pumps), solar PV panels, and smart controls. It uses a "fabric first" approach, starting with insulation and ventilation.
To check if you qualify and apply:
- Your home needs an EPC rating of D–G (a free one can be arranged if needed).
- Household income is generally £36,000 or less, or you receive certain means-tested benefits (e.g., Universal Credit, Pension Credit).
- Available to homeowners and private tenants (with landlord permission); social housing excluded.
